Pen name: Ishin-ken, Kogetsu. Dharma transmission from Shunso Joshu in Jikou-ji. He practiced Zen under Shunso for more than 20 years. He was the Zen master of Jiko-ji in his age 40 and became the 501st abbot of Myoshin-ji in 1838. He was invited to be the abbot of Shofuku-ji in Kobe in 1841. He rebuilt Shofuku-ji and retired in his age 74 to Jiko-ji.
