Pen name: Shin’no-ken. He practiced Zen under Gido in Tenryu-ji, Ekkei in Myoshin-ji, Suigan in Eigen-ji and Kanju who was Suigan’s Dharma heir. Dharma transmission from Kanju. He re-founded Kanso-ji in Gifu in 1890. He was recommended to be the chjief abbot of Eigen-ji in 1892 and stayed for 10 years. He retired to Ryuun-ji.
