Honorific name: Enkimyo’oh Zenji. Pen name: Sekisui, Shuho-ken. He was ordained as a Rinzai Zen monk by Daizen in shoin-ji, Yamagata. He practiced Zen under Daido Bunga, Kogetsu, Suigan and Setsudo in Miyazaki and received Dharuma transmission from Kogetsu. He was invited to be the abbot of Kaizen-ji in Fukuoka. In his The later years, he was recommended to be the abbot of Ryoan-ji and died at the temple.
