Zen Rinzai. The abbot of ken’nin-ji. The 238th abbot of Kencho-ji.
Dharma transmission from Takeda Ekiju Roshi in Ken’nin-ji monastery. He also practiced Zen under Tesshu Chisei in his school days. He entered Ken’nin-ji monastery in 1942 and practiced Zen under Takeda Eisen at first. He was invited to be the chief abbot and Zen master of the Kencho-ji branch in Kamakura in 1964. He moved to Ken’nin-ji and became the Zen master by his master Takeda Ekiju’s order. He was recommended to be the chief abbot of Ken’nin-ji in 1989. He retired in 1999.
