Pine tree is sky high. The 30th abbot of Rinzai. Nangaku Etsuzan.

Dharma transmission from Mokuan Shoto. He came to Nagasaki Japan from China in 1657. He also practice Zen under Ingen. He made an effort to manage the Obaku with Taibi. He founded Jifuku-in, sub-temple in Manpuku-ji. He was selected to be the 7th chief abbot of Manpuku-ji in 1705 and retired in 1707. His painting has established a strong reputation.
