He founded Nanshu-ji monastery by the request of the Daitoku-ji branch in 1866, then also founded Daitoku-ji monastery in the sub-temple of Daitoku-ji-ji in 1872. He brought up many outstanding Dharma heirs, Ekkei Shuken in Myoshin-ji, Tekisui Giboku in Tenryu-ji, Kosen So’on in Enkaku-ji, Koju Sotaku and Bokuju Soju in Daitoku-ji branches.
